GOURMET FOOD : KEEP EATING HEALTHY : EASY DINNER RECEPIES ARE THEY LIKE THAT, REALLY FUNNY BUT TRUE

Random Hilarity: Northwoods Gourmet: Healthy Livin'

Northwoods Gourmet: Healthy Livin'

Northwoods Gourmet: Healthy LivinThe Northwoods Gourmet Bob Wershmeyer shares his helpful tips for eating right - nort' woods style.
Step 1:

Healthy Living Episode

Okay, now today we're featuring our first annual Healthy Living episode. Now I'll admit this was my wife Marianne's idea more than it was mine. But she's got a point. After all, here in the old twenty-first century we ought to start looking out for the ticker. It turns out heart disease is the number two killer of folks up here in the Northwoods, right behind snowmobile accidents. And since I can't very well go asking you to stay off your snowmobile after a few brewskies, the least I can do is help you do a little healthier living at the table.
Step 2:

Low-Fat Mayonnaise

Okay, tip number one. Now we all love cheese curds. Squeaky good fun for the kids and even better when you batter them up in the fryer and dip them in some mayo. But this classic side dish can be a little bit on the calorie side. So next time instead of deep frying your cheese curds in the batter and dipping them in mayonnaise, deep fry your cheese curds and dip them in low fat mayonnaise. I promise, you won't miss the calories. Or maybe you will.
Step 3:

Donut Fat

Okay, tip number two. Now we all love the coffee clutch in the church basement and the PTA meetings. After all, there's plenty of free donuts. But even though they're the perfect breakfast hors d'oeuvre, those donuts are full of what I like to call hidden calories.

Also known as sprinkles. But don't worry, you can just take yourself a knife and scrape those hidden calories right off into a bowl. Oh yeah. You also might want to skip putting butter on the donut. Of course, I don't want to totally ruin it for you, so that personal decision is optional.
Step 4:

Coffee & Sugar

Okay, tip number three. Now we all love a good cup of coffee; I know I do. Whether you're up in a deer stand, out in the ice shanty, or just out in the drive. A hot cup of java can really keep the engine running. But if you're like old Bob here, you probably want to put some sugar in there. Oh yeah; that's right. As my old uncle Inbar used to say, you're not done until the spoon stands up and salutes.

That's one fine cup of joe, but a little on the steep side as far as calories go. But no worries; the Northwoods Gourmet has developed the perfect sugar substitute. Just take some of those hidden calories that we set aside earlier and use them to sweeten your coffee. There you go, sweet coffee without using sugar. Now if you're going to drink a lot of coffee you're going to have to make sure to eat a lot of donuts. After all, you don't want to go scraping the sprinkles off some other fellow's donuts.
Step 5:

Healthy Eating Conclusion

Okay, that's about all the time we have for this year's Healthy Living episode, but with all these tips we gave you, you'll have plenty of opportunity to make it to next year.
