We're regularly being reminded of the impact our lifestyle have on the environment and how we can reduce our future footprint. The good news is that being environmentally-friendly can also wind up saving you money. Here's how
- Step 1:

Improve your fuel economy, lower your CO2 emissions
- There are a number of things you can do to make sure you're getting the highest number of miles out of your tank of petrol, while simultaneously lowering your emissions:
- Keep your tyres properly inflated – if they're deflated at all your car will find it harder to move, and as such will use more petrol in an effort to maintain speed. If one of your tyres is under-inflated by just two pounds per square inch, fuel consumption goes up by 1%.
- Change the oil regularly to keep the engine ticking over at full efficiency.
- Reduce any excess weight: don't cart a boot full of heavy stuff around unnecessarily – it's dragging you down and costing you money.
- Turn off the AirCon: it puts extra strain on the engine, which consequently guzzles more petrol.

- Close the windows: it reduces the inherent aerodynamic sleekness of your car, and can lead to a 10% decrease in fuel economy.
- Drive sensibly: keeping your speed constant over long distances uses less petrol, so don't stop and start. Allow your speed to creep up – revving the engine and causing the car to accelerate quickly is wasteful, as is speeding up to traffic lights and having to stop.
- Move up a gear as soon as possible – if traffic conditions allow, slip into a higher gear. You're at your most eco-friendly between 40 and 60 miles per hour.
- Don't leave the engine to warm up in winter; you're burning petrol unnecessarily.
- Choose quiet roads- the route might be longer, but if you're on a road that's backed up with traffic you're not doing the planet any good.
- Car share- split a journey with someone else – that's one less car on the road, ruining things.

- You could always trade in your dirty old motor for something that's designed from the ground up to offer high mpg whilst spitting out as little C02 as possible! Having spent the last few years improving the efficiency and lowering the emissions of their cars, the manufacturers are lining up to offer you planet-saving technology that means updating your car will make a difference.
- What's more the cleaner the car, the more money you'll save on your road tax. Check the labels on new cars to see which band it's in – from green to red. Pick something towards the top of the scale. It's worth knowing that some manufacturers are even offering additional discount off a new car if you scrap your old car, assuming it's over a certain age.
- Choose an engine that suits your needs. Diesel engine cars are generally more expensive up front but if you're planning to do lots of long distance driving it can work out more cost effective.
- Diesel also produces less CO2, but arguably more air pollutants, so you might want to consider that if you're driving around town. The best thing you can do is have a good look at the car's mpg and co2 figures before you buy.
- Remember, over a year, a fuel-efficient car could save you the equivalent of three months fuel!

Not long ago, T-shirts were thought of as merely undergarments. That time is long past as printed T-shirts have become an art form and a very popular form of casual dress. You, too, can screen print your own T-shirts - if you are serious enough to shell out about $2000 for the materials and press. The folks at Detroit Sprinkles will show you how to do it.

You will need:
- T-shirt
- Original artwork
- Photo transparency stock
- Silk screens
- Frame
- Emulsion fluid
- Emulsion scoop coater
- Photographic-safe light
- Glass cover
- Halogen light
- Spray bottle
- Shirt press
- Acrylic fabric paint (plastisol)
- Step 1:

Print The Design
- Artwork should be scanned into a digital file, and processed through PhotoShop. From there, the design can be printed on a transparency using an inkjet printer. Set the saturation levels high, or use a "film" or "transfer" setting if available. Make sure it's a good print. It takes practice. Once you've got a good print, set it aside.
- Step 2:

Apply The Emulsion
- This part of the process should be done in a dark room, or in photograph-safe light. Emulsion fluid is used to coat both sides of the silk screen. Though they're still called silk screens, these screens are actually made of nylon or polyester these days. They should be inserted into a frame, and held taught. Coat both sides of the screen with emulsion fluid, using the scoop coater. Make sure it's even, and let it dry 30 to 40 minutes.
- Step 3:

Create The Stencil
- The stencil is a pattern with cutouts through which ink or paint can pass, creating a design. To create it, place the print on top of the emulsion-covered screen. Cover with a thin piece of glass. The glass should be big enough to cover your entire design. If you use a halogen light (often provided in a basic screen printing kit) 12 minutes should be enough to burn the design into a stencil. Sunlight or a simple bright light will also work, but those methods take longer. Next, fill a spray bottle with tap water. Spray your stencil thoroughly, on both sides, to wash out residue and sharpen the image. Now let the stencil dry for about 15 to 20 minutes in front of a fan.

Print The Shirt
- You'll need a shirt press and an acrylic-based fabric paint called plastisol for this step. Place your screen/stencil in the press, leaving a little space between the screen/stencil and the platform. That space is where the shirt goes. Lower the screen on top of the shirt. Next, add dollops of paint at the top of the screen, then spread them using a squeegee held at a 45 degree angle. Lift the screen. Finally, use a heater (usually provided in a basic screen printing kit) to cure the design for about :25 seconds. Now, the shirt is ready to be worn.

Understanding out swing
- Out swing is when the ball swings, or curves in the air away from the body of a right handed batsman
- Step 3:

The grip
- Hold the ball like with two fingers either side of the seam, with the thumb underneath. The next two fingers fold softly into the palm of your hand
- Step 4:

Ball position
- You will also want to have a finger's width in between the palm of your hand and the back of the ball. Gripping the ball too tightly will make it hard for the ball to roll out of your fingers. Holding it too loosely will mean less control over the ball.

The wrist
- As the ball leaves your hand you want your wrist to be cocked back and locked so that the ball rolls as you bring the ball down and out of the fingers to put backspin on the ball and keep the seam straight.

- Keeping the seam straight also means that you might be able to swing the ball. The air will travel more quickly past the shiny side. So if you keep one side shiny the ball will swing one way or the other.
